Some Rules to Live by for Home Football Games

We perform at home football games to cheer on the team and create/contribute to school pride

Students cannot drive anyone but themselves to games

If you are being dropped off, please have your parent drop you off at the trailer and pick you up in the same place.   Mr. Philips will stay until every student is picked up, but please let your parents know the game is over by 9:30 PM, usually.  Call times to Home games are at 5:00 PM unless noted otherwise in the weekly Itinerary.  We have to wait for everyone to go in together.

Go to the Basketball courts for warms ups and parade practice

We always sit together at games

All non-playing visitors and friends CANNOT sit with the band…we are there to play and support the team.  That IS our job!  You CANNOT wander off, hide behind the bleachers, come back late from halftime because you were hanging out with your friends.  Again, marching band was created to support the football team…

Only two people go to the rest room at a time…we need everyone to play for us to be effective

For home games, after half time, we enjoy snacks provided only by the parents.  We absolutely NEVER eat anything, other than what is provided by the boosters.   Do not store candy. gum etc in your uniform and eat it.

Please make sure to eat before you get to the stadium!   We need you to have energy.

We are not responsible for your instrument or music.   Please make sure to load it onto the trailer by yourself to make sure it gets to the stadium.

YOU CANNOT sit within other instrument sections because you have friends there…you must stay in your section…we place you in the bleachers to be musically effective.

IN ONE LINE ON THE BLEACHERS IN THIS ORDER:

Tubas

Percussion

Trombones/Bari Saxes

Baritones/ Tenor Saxes

Trumpets

Alto Saxes/Mellophones

clarinets/flutes

You cannot switch instruments with others…any game is not the time to “test out the snare drum or someone else’s trumpet.   Also, percussionists, please stay on your assigned instrument.   It is about the music and our contribution to the team.

Be kind as if you were sitting with your parents, say kind words to others and be respectful to the others bands, especially when they come to visit us in the stands.  Band people should be friendly towards each other….leave the battle for the football teams.

HAVE FUN!
